Cheryl Ellis

MA, LMFT

Cheryl Ellis received her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University in December 2020 and was licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the State of Iowa in 2023. She earned her undergraduate degree from Sterling College in Sterling, Kansas, majoring in Christian Education with a minor in Theatre Arts—both of which she thoughtfully integrates into her work with clients.

Cheryl has been working with youth and families in a variety of roles since 2000. Her background includes extensive involvement in youth ministry, supporting adolescents and families during her husband’s 10 years as a youth pastor. She has also served as a licensed foster parent for 20 years, primarily caring for teenage girls, and has been deeply involved in foster and adoptive support services.

In addition to her clinical work, Cheryl has provided foster and adoptive pre-service training for nearly two decades and has worked as a peer liaison and counselor with the Iowa Foster and Adoptive Parents Association (IFAPA) and the WIC program.

Cheryl is passionate about helping families grow together while also providing therapeutic support to individuals and couples. She brings warmth, real-life experience, and a relational approach to her work. Cheryl and her husband, David, are parents to seven daughters and are joyfully welcoming sons-in-law into their growing family.
